What I did
Audit and priorities
The engagement opened with a full crawl, an index-coverage review, a Core Web Vitals check, an on-page review of the commercial pages and a backlink profile review. Findings were ranked by impact and effort rather than by severity label, so the work started where it would move the numbers first.
Technical fixes first
Anything blocking crawling or indexing was fixed before new content went live. Working in that order means later content is indexed on publication instead of waiting behind an unresolved technical problem.
Keyword research and intent mapping
One primary term per page, grouped secondaries, and a list of pages to create, merge or retire, so two pages never compete for the same query.
Content and local signals
Commercial pages were rewritten or created against the mapped intent, and the Google Business Profile was completed and kept active where local search mattered.
Results
Organic traffic to the site grew by 120%, with 40+ commercial and branch-intent keywords reaching page one and 60+ organic enquiries a month arriving through search rather than paid channels. The gains came from the technical work first, then the content built against the mapped intent.
What this shows
In a regulated sector the constraint is rarely the writing, it is getting product and branch pages crawled, indexed and matched to the right query. Fixing the technical layer before publishing anything is what makes the content work at all.
