WordPress SEO Services

My WordPress SEO services cover the platform I build on and audit most: SEO plugin configuration done properly, theme and page-builder cleanup, speed, sitemaps, schema and the security issues that quietly destroy rankings on unmaintained installs. For sites in Nepal and abroad.

  • WordPress builds and audits since 2018
  • Rank Math and Yoast
  • Elementor, Gutenberg and custom themes

Why WordPress needs its own SEO service

WordPress is capable of excellent SEO and, out of the box, delivers almost none of it. The theme decides the heading structure and the page weight; the SEO plugin decides titles, canonicals, sitemaps and schema, and most installs leave it on defaults; page builders add megabytes of scripts; and plugins accumulate until the site takes five seconds to load. Because I build on WordPress and audit dozens of WordPress sites a year, this is the most hands-on of my SEO services: I make the changes myself rather than writing tickets.

Who this is for

  • Businesses in Nepal whose WordPress site was built by a design agency and never configured for search.
  • Companies abroad running a WordPress marketing site or a WooCommerce store that has slowed down and slipped in rankings.
  • Sites hacked or injected with spam pages that Google is now indexing.
  • Teams about to rebuild on WordPress who want the SEO set up correctly at launch, handled with the website migration and redesign SEO service.

What the WordPress SEO service includes

  • SEO plugin configuration: Rank Math or Yoast set up deliberately: title templates per post type, noindex rules for tags, author and attachment pages, canonical handling, breadcrumbs, sitemap contents and schema defaults. One plugin, not two fighting each other.
  • Theme SEO audit: heading hierarchy in the templates, one H1 per page, semantic markup, image handling, and removal of the hidden text and duplicated navigation blocks many themes ship with.
  • Page builder cleanup: Elementor, WPBakery and Divi sites reviewed for script bloat, nested containers, and headings used as styling; where a rebuild in Gutenberg is cheaper than a fix, I say so.
  • Speed and Core Web Vitals: image compression and WebP, caching, critical CSS, deferred scripts, font loading, and hosting recommendations for Nepali sites on slow shared servers. Full rebuilds run through the website speed and Core Web Vitals optimization service.
  • XML sitemaps and robots.txt: sitemaps containing only indexable content, robots rules that do not block CSS, JS or uploads, and staging sites kept out of the index.
  • Schema markup: Organization, LocalBusiness, Service, Article, FAQ and Product schema through the plugin or custom code, validated; large deployments through the schema markup service.
  • Plugin audit: removing redundant and abandoned plugins, resolving conflicts, and replacing heavy plugins with lighter equivalents.
  • Database and media cleanup: revisions, transients, orphaned media and duplicate image sizes.
  • Security hardening: updates, login protection, file permissions, malware scans and removal of injected spam pages, plus reindexing after cleanup. Hacked WordPress sites are one of the most common causes of sudden ranking loss in Nepal.
  • Multilingual setup: WPML or Polylang configured so Nepali and English versions carry correct hreflang and separate sitemaps, covered further under international SEO.

How the work runs

  1. Audit. Crawl, plugin and theme inventory, PageSpeed field data, Search Console coverage, and a security scan.
  2. Staging copy. Changes are made on a staging copy first, tested, then deployed, so nothing breaks the live site.
  3. Configuration and cleanup. Plugin settings, theme fixes, plugin removal, caching and image optimization, sitemaps and robots.
  4. Verification. Re-crawl, Search Console validation, Core Web Vitals re-test, and a checklist you keep for future updates.
  5. Maintenance (optional). Monthly updates, backups, security checks and a quarterly SEO health review.

A configuration and cleanup project usually takes one to two weeks. Sites needing a speed rebuild or malware removal take longer and are quoted after the audit.

Typical WordPress findings

Yoast and Rank Math both active; title templates producing “Home – Company Name – Just another WordPress site”; every image uploaded at camera resolution; tag archives with one post each being indexed; an XML sitemap listing 3,000 attachment pages; a robots.txt from staging; a theme with three H1s per page; twelve years of plugin accumulation; and, on Nepali sites in particular, a hacked install serving pharmaceutical spam to Googlebot while looking normal to visitors. None of these is rare, and all of them are fixable in days.

What you receive

A configured, cleaned and faster WordPress site, a documented settings and plugin baseline, validated sitemaps and schema, a security report, and a maintenance checklist. WordPress work is included in every tier on the SEO packages and pricing page and available as a fixed-price setup project.

Frequently asked questions

Rank Math or Yoast?

Both do the job when configured properly; the configuration matters more than the choice. I default to Rank Math on new builds for its schema and redirect features in the free version, and keep Yoast where a site already runs it well. Running both at once, or adding a third plugin for schema and a fourth for sitemaps, is the problem I fix most often.

Will you need admin access to my WordPress site?

Yes, for the configuration and cleanup work, plus hosting or FTP access for speed and security tasks. I work on a staging copy first and deploy after testing. Access is given to a dedicated account you can remove at the end, and I document every change so your developer can see what was done.

Is Elementor bad for SEO?

Not inherently, but Elementor sites are often slow and structurally messy: heavy scripts, deeply nested containers, headings used for styling and duplicate content in mobile and desktop sections. Most can be cleaned up and made fast. When the theme and builder combination is beyond repair, I recommend a rebuild in the block editor and explain the cost comparison.

My WordPress site was hacked. Can rankings recover?

Usually, yes. The steps are malware removal, closing the entry point (outdated plugin, weak password, insecure hosting), removing injected pages with 410 responses, requesting a review if Google flagged the site, and resubmitting the sitemap. Rankings typically recover over a few weeks once Google re-crawls a clean site, provided the cleanup was complete.

Can you make WordPress fast on Nepali hosting?

Up to a point. Caching, image optimization and script deferral can halve load times on most shared hosting, but if the server itself responds in over a second, Core Web Vitals will still fail. In that case I recommend a better host, local or international, with figures from your own site so the decision is based on measurement rather than opinion.

Do you do WooCommerce SEO too?

Yes. WooCommerce inherits all of WordPress's SEO behaviour plus store-specific issues: product variant URLs, category structure, faceted filters and product schema. The store side is described on the WooCommerce SEO and eCommerce SEO pages, and the platform work on this page is included.
