Who this is for
Apps with a business model past the install: remittance and wallet apps, ride and delivery services, marketplaces, learning apps, banking and insurance apps, and games with in-app purchases, in Nepal or abroad. The common thread is that an install is worth nothing until the user registers, completes KYC, orders or pays, and the campaign has to be judged on that. If your product is a website rather than an app, Facebook lead ads or Facebook Ads for eCommerce is the right page.
What the service includes
- Event setup. The Meta SDK in the app, or a mobile measurement partner such as AppsFlyer, Adjust or Branch, sending install, registration, KYC completion, add to cart, first transaction and purchase with values. For iOS, the SKAdNetwork and Aggregated Event Measurement configuration that Meta needs, with the conversion schema set so the events that matter are the ones reported.
- App registration in Meta with the store listings, app IDs and the data-use checks passed, and the app linked to the Business Portfolio and ad account.
- Campaigns. Meta app campaigns optimized for app events rather than installs; Advantage+ App campaigns where the event volume supports them, as described under Advantage+ campaigns; and re-engagement campaigns to installed users who have not transacted.
- Creative. Screen-recorded walkthroughs, the first transaction shown end to end, and Nepali or English copy that states what the app does and what the first-use offer is; produced as described under Facebook ad creative and copywriting.
- Reporting that reconciles Meta’s numbers with the app’s own analytics or the measurement partner, by platform and market.
How an app campaign is built
- Define the event that means a user. Registration for a marketplace, KYC for a wallet, first transfer for remittance, first order for delivery.
- Instrument and verify. Events sent from test devices on Android and iOS and confirmed in Events Manager or the measurement partner, with values where they exist.
- Launch for installs briefly, then switch. A short install-optimized phase gathers enough events for the campaign to optimize for the real event; then the objective moves to the event and stays there.
- Split by platform and market. Android and iOS behave differently and Nepal, the Gulf and Australia are different audiences; each gets its own ad set and budget.
- Re-engage. Installed but inactive users see the first-transaction offer; active users are excluded from acquisition. The web side of that logic is under Facebook retargeting ads.
- Optimize weekly on cost per event and, once available, on retention and value per user from the app’s analytics.
What is different for apps in Nepal
Android dominates, so most budget and creative testing sits there, with iOS as a smaller, higher-value segment. Many app businesses in Nepal are remittance, wallet and fintech products, which adds Meta’s financial products policy and, in some destination markets, financial services verification; the industry detail is under Facebook and Instagram ads for remittance and fintech. Paying Meta at the spend an app campaign needs is often the first constraint: registered IT businesses can obtain dollar cards with limits of USD 3,000 to 5,000 a year, and an April 2026 Nepal Rastra Bank amendment lets banks set their own prepaid-card limits. Where that is not enough, campaigns run through the Facebook boost service with rupee invoicing.
Mistakes I see in app accounts
- Campaigns optimized for installs for months, reported as success by download count.
- No SDK or measurement partner, so Meta sees the install and nothing else.
- iOS events not configured for SKAdNetwork, so iOS results look like zero and the budget drifts to Android.
- Existing users not excluded, so acquisition budget pays for re-installs.
- Creative that shows the logo and a download button rather than the first transaction.
What you receive
A verified event setup on both platforms with a test log, app registration and Business Portfolio links, acquisition and re-engagement campaigns by platform and market, creative briefs, and a monthly report showing cost per install, cost per registration and cost per first transaction against the app’s own analytics.
Pricing and next step
App campaigns run within the monthly fee for Facebook Ads management services; event setup is included, and ranges are on the Meta Ads packages and pricing page. If you already run app campaigns, the free Meta Ads audit shows what a registered or transacting user costs you today, which is usually a very different number from the cost per install.
